PM 7 / 7° PM
El Séptimo programa marco de investigación y desarrollo tecnológico - PMID 7 -recoge todas las iniciativas europeas de financiación de la investigación para premiar los esfuerzos en materia de empleo, crecimiento y competitividad. Es un dispositivo complementario al PIC (Programa para la Innovación y la Competitividad), a los programas de educación y de formación y a los fondos estructurales concedidos a nivel regional.
Este es el principal instrumento para financiar la investigación en la UE en el ámbito europeo, que abarca el período 2007-2013. El presupuesto para los 7 años es de 50.5 mil miliones de euros; y el presupuesto Euratom para 2007-2012 es de 2.7 mil milliones de euros;
El 7° PM mantiene las actividades de investigacion en ciertos sectores prioritarios, el objetivo siendo que la UE ocupe o mantenga el primer puesto en los sectores en cuestion.
